- Dropbox file sharing platform
For some clients we use Dropbox for file sharing. We will never share any files on Dropbox without your permission and will only share files with named individuals within your organisation. There are multiple levels of security to protect and back up your files.
You can also take advantage of two-step verification for Dropbox, a login authentication feature which you can enable to add another layer of security to your account.
- Other Dropbox users can’t see your files in Dropbox unless you share links to files or share folders.
- Dropbox files at rest are encrypted using 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)
- Dropbox uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)/Transport Layer Security (TLS) to protect data in transit between Dropbox apps and our servers
- SSL/TSL creates a secure tunnel protected by 128-bit or higher Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption
- Dropbox applications and infrastructure are regularly tested for security vulnerabilities and hardened to enhance security and protect against attacks
- Two-step verification is available for an extra layer of security at login
If you use two-step verification, you can choose to receive security codes by text message or from any Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) application.
Public files are only viewable by people who have a link to the file(s)
Dropbox is designed with multiple layers of protection, including secure data transfer, encryption, network configuration, and application- and user-level controls that are distributed across a scalable, secure infrastructure.
- Local data storage iCloud Data Security
We use encrypted local hard drives for data storage and we also use Apple iCloud for backup of some data that is shared between our computing hardware such as laptops, desktop machines and smart phones.
iCloud secures our information by encrypting it when it’s in transit, storing it in iCloud in an encrypted format, and using secure tokens for authentication. For certain sensitive information, Apple uses end-to-end encryption. This means that only we can access information, and only on devices where we are signed in to iCloud. No one else, not even Apple, can access end-to-end encrypted information.
A minimum of 128-bit AES encryption is used for all the following applications and services we use within iCloud for data in transit and on the servers:

E-mail is encrypted with TLS1.2 whilst in transit and we deploy S/MIME encryption on our Apple email clients for email stored on the server.
